The social and recreational opportunities are without limits.  Shadow Wood and The Brooks have miles of walking, jogging and biking trails, many through pristine preserve areas loaded with Florida wildlife. Golf choices at the country club are the north and south courses located in Shadow Wood and a third Preserve  course about 15 minutes to the north. The tennis program is active and offers social and competitive play at all levels of skill and experience. The Brooks Commons Club gold membership lets you enjoy a private beach facility on the Gulf of Mexico; a state-of-the-art fitness center and spa; a private member only Rosie Spoonbill's restaurant; and a social enrichment center with concerts on the green.
One can dine at a different restaurant every night for a month and never drive more than 10-15 minutes from Shadow Wood. Fine dining to casual - it is all within a short car drive.
Over one million square feet of retail shopping is located on the western Shadow Wood boundary in open-air Coconut Point Town Center. Drive 10 minutes and you are at Miromar Outlets, one of Florida's largest discount shopping malls. Everything including Neiman Marcus, Polo, Saks 5th Avenue, Brooks Brothers, Cole Haan, Nike, St. John, Chicos, White House, Black Market, Ann Taylor plus 150 others are in this ever expanding shopping mecca.
